What Polyethylene Glycol/ Propylene Glycol is used for :
Polyethylene
Glycol/ Propylene Glycol is a lubricant that is used for the temporary
relief of irritation and burning due to dryness of the eye. It may also
be used to treat dry eye caused by the use of contact lenses. This
product consists of single doses that are preservative free.
Do not use Polyethylene Glycol/ Propylene Glycol :
If you are allergic to Polyethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol or
any of the ingredients in this medicine. Tell your doctor about the
allergy and what signs you had.
If the product looks cloudy or changes in color.
Warnings and precautions :
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting this medicine
if you are allergic to Polyethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol or any of
the ingredients in this medicine.
This medication is intended for external use only.
Stop using the medication and ask a doctor if you experience eye
irritation or redness that is getting worse or that persists for more
than 72 hours.
Stop using the medication and ask a doctor if you experience changes in your vision or eye pain.
If used for dry eyes caused by contact lenses, make sure to
instill the drop before putting the contact lenses and after removing
them.
Possible side effects :
Possible
side effects include signs of an allergic reaction, like rash and
itching. Common side effects include blurred vision, minor eye
irritation and burning or stinging.
Other medicines and Polyethylene Glycol/ Propylene Glycol : Tell
your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or
might take any other medications including eye drops. If you are using
more than one eye drop solution, make sure to administer each at least
five minutes apart to avoid precipitation of the eye drop.
How to use Polyethylene Glycol/ Propylene Glycol :
Recommended dose is 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.
Wash your hands. Twist off the top of the single dose vial. Tilt your
head slightly backward and pull down your lower eyelid making a pocket.
Keep the vial above your eye with the tip facing down. Look upward and
away from the vial then press on it to release a drop. Close your eyes
for 2-3 minutes with your head facing down, making sure not to blink.
Gently apply pressure to the corner of your eye for around 1 minute.
Space your eye drops by at least 5 minutes.
How to store Polyethylene Glycol/ Propylene Glycol : Store eye drop at room temperature.
Make sure to throw vial away after one use.
Discard any remaining contents 12 hours after opening.
Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not use beyond the expiry date mentioned on the box.
Keep away from light.
