• Norethindrone is a form of progesterone, a female hormone important for regulating ovulation and menstruation.

Therapeutic Indications Of Primolut N 5 Mg Tablets

• Norethindrone is used for birth control (contraception) to prevent pregnancy.

Method Of Administration Of Primolut N 5 Mg Tablets

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
• Tablets must be taken every day at about the same time so that the interval between two tablets always is 24 hours.
• Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor\'s or pharmacist\'s instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

Undesirable Side Effects Of Primolut N 5 Mg Tablets

• Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
• irregular or heavier menstrual periods.
• lower abdominal pain and nausea.
• Headache, dizziness, and fatigue.
• breast tenderness

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Primolut N 5 Mg Tablets

• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Norethisterone:
• if you have high blood pressure
• if you have heart problems
• if you have had a thrombosis/embolism
• if you suffer from migraine, asthma, or kidney problems
• if you suffer from epilepsy
• if you have an inflammation of your veins
• if you have varicose veins
• if you smoke
• if you have diabetes
• if you are overweight (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2)
• if anyone in your immediate family has had breast cancer

Storage Conditions Of Primolut N 5 Mg Tablets

• Store below 25°c
• Don’t refrigerate
• Used patches still contain some active hormones. To protect the environment, the patches should be disposed of with care.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
