Product Description:
What Miconazole Nitrate is used for:
- This medication is used to treat vaginal yeast infections.
- Miconazole reduces vaginal burning,itching, and discharge that may occur with this condition.
- This medication is an azole antifungal.
- It works by stopping the growth of yeast (fungus) that causes the infection.
Do not use Miconazole Nitrate
- If you’re allergic to the active substance or any other component of this medicine, or to other similar antifungal medicine.
Warnings and precautions:
If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication:
- Diabetes.
- Frequent vaginal yeast infections (more than 3 in 6 months or 4 in 1 year).
- Do not use tampons, douches, spermicides or other vaginal products while using this medication.
- Unscented sanitary napkins may be used for your menstrual period or to protect your clothing from leakage of the medication.
- Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve after 3 days or lasts more than 7 days.
- Tell your doctor if your infection returns within 2 months.
- You may need a different or additional medication to treat your condition.
Possible side effects:
- Headache, vaginal/urethral burning/itching/pain, or lower abdominal cramps may occur.
- If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
- If your doctor has directed you to use this medication, remember
that your doctor has judged that The benefit to you is greater than the
risk of side effects.
- Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
- A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it Occurs.
Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include:
- Rash, itching/swelling (especially of the Face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
Other medicines and Miconazole Nitrate:
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking, especially:
- Blood thinners such as Warfarin
- Medicines for diabetes
- Heart medicines called calcium channel blockers
- Phenytoin
- Statins used to lower cholesterol levels
How to use Miconazole Nitrate:
- This product is for vaginal use only.
- Wash your hands before and after use.
- Avoid contact of this product with your eyes.
- If it gets into your eyes, wash them right away with plenty of water.
- Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
- Use the medication usually once daily at bedtime for 1 to 7 nights depending on as directed by your doctor.
- If using the vaginal suppository\'s, you may use your finger to insert the suppository. Unwrap the suppository\'s before use.
- Follow the package instructions on how to fill the applicator with the vaginal suppository\'s.
- Lie on your back with your knees toward your chest.
- Insert the tablet into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go.
How to store Miconazole Nitrate:
- Store at room temperature (20 to 25°C).
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
- The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
