Product Description:
Pinaverium bromide is a medication that belongs to a class of medications known as “gastrointestinal calcium antagonists”.
It is used for the following indications:
- Relief of signs associated with functional bowel problems like, pain, bowel discomfort and intestinal disturbances.
- Relief of pain associated with functional problems of the biliary tract.
- Preparation for a barium enema (an X-ray exam that can detect changes or abnormalities in the bowel).
Do not take Pinaverium bromide:
- If you are allergic to Pinaverium bromide, or any of the ingredients in this medicine.
- Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.
Warnings and precautions:
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions
such as shortness of breath, skin rash, swelling of the face or neck,
decreased blood pressure and dizziness.
- This medicine was not proven to be safe or effective in children yet. Do not use this medicine in children.
- This medicine contains lactose.
- Talk to your doctor before starting this medicine if you have been
told that you have an intolerance to some types of sugars including if
you have Lapp lactase deficiency, galactose intolerance or
glucose-galactose malabsorption. If you have any of these medical
conditions, you should not take this medicine.
- If you are a patient with a previous hiatus hernia or esophageal
lesion, you should pay close attention as to how you will be taking this
medicine in order to avoid upper gastrointestinal damage including
esophageal ulcers (sore in your esophagus).
How to Use:
Adults
- The recommended dose is one tablet orally twice a day (one tablet in the morning and one tablet in the evening).
- Your doctor may exceptionally recommend a dosage of one tablet three times a day.
Children
- Effectiveness and safety of this medicine have not been established in children yet.
- Make sure to take your medication as described in this leaflet or as recommended by your healthcare provider.
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Swallow tablet with a glass of water in the middle of a meal.
- Do not take your tablet right before going to bed or when lying down.
- Do not chew or suck the tablet.
How to store Pinaverium bromide:
- Do not store medication above 30°C.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Do not use beyond the expiry date mentioned on the box.
- Keep medication in its original pack to protect it from moisture and light.
- Do not use damaged pills.
- Do not dispose medication in the wastewater or household waste.
